Consultations

Appointments are usually made for 15 minutes. If you feel you need or want longer than this, please let reception know when you make your appointment. You are welcome to book a double appointment – this will carry an additional charge.

If you wish to see a particular Doctor or Nurse, please let reception know and we will try and ensure that this happens. It is therefore best if you telephone ahead to make an appointment. If you need to be seen urgently, you may need to see which ever Doctor is available at the time.

If you are making a Nurse appointment and can give Reception some indication of the reason for the appointment (e.g cervical smear, vaccination, ECG) this helps us ensure the correct time and preparation is made for your appointment.

You can sign up to our ManageMy Health Patient Portal to book appointments with some of our GPs, or if you are not registered with our patient portal and would like to book an appointment click on 'Book Now'.

Doctor appointments

We have purpose built rooms with a range of treatment areas, including spacious doctor and nurse consultation rooms to deal with the usual range of health care issues, as well as acute injury. We offer the full range of GP, family medicine services relevant to all ages.

We offer many services with reduced or minimal cost to you that are supported by the Nelson Bays Primary Health Organisation (NBPHO), of which we are a member. These services include the Care Plus programme, annual diabetic checks, annual respiratory reviews, diabetic and heart checks, cardiovascular risk assessment, child and adult mental health support and the treatment of skin lesions. Not all patients are eligible for these and the funding is limited, but please ask at the time of your appointment.

For acute medical or injury care, we offer ECG, ultra-sound, plastering and IV infusion services and we perform many minor surgical procedures such as biopsy, suturing and injection of joints.
