I was born in Golden Bay and spent most of my school years in Nelson, so it was great to return here as a House Surgeon after graduating from Otago Medical School. I did the usual working overseas (Bermuda and Britain) before coming back to Nelson to take up General Practice.

General Practice is a natural choice for me in medicine, as I enjoy the variety, the long term contact with patients and the relationships that come from that. While I enjoy all aspects of General Practice, I have special interest in minor surgery including skin cancer surgery and vasectomies.

My wife Ruth and I have two sons who are both Doctors.

Outside of medicine I enjoy getting back to Golden Bay, gardening and getting some exercise. The mountain bike keeps me fit and I train at Seido Karate and get out for a surf at Snappers whenever I can.
